Stress-Free Solutions to Wrap up Your Holiday Shopping

(ARA) – Whether you’ve yet to start your holiday shopping or you just need a few last-minute gifts, these smart shopping tips will have you singing “Hallelujah!”

According to the experts at Pier 1 Kids, the solutions-based children’s furniture and accessories retailer, this holiday season’s shoppers are looking for easy, unique gifts with more than just novelty appeal, all at a great price.

“High-tech toys are extremely popular, but gifts that reflect kids’ personalities and interests are the ones that they remember and enjoy the longest,” says Pier 1 Kids Director of Merchandising Peter Fowler. And, according to Fowler, there are loads of great gift options at every price point.

You don’t have to spend a ton of money to find a gift that sparks a child’s imagination and creativity. “Interactive, classic toys like dominos, wooden puzzles, wooden tool boxes, pretend wooden food, nurses’ kits and musical instruments usually aren’t expensive, and they are always big hits,” adds Fowler.

With self-expression being big for kids of all ages, other sure bets are gifts that inspire creativity. “Kids love being creative. Art sets, easels, crayons, clay and paint are perfect gifts because opening them is only half the fun,” says Fowler. “The excitement continues every time they create something.”

And if you’re hunting for something truly unique, think outside the box. This holiday, consider giving your child a little space. Puzzle desks are easily assembled without tools and are not only fun to put together, they also create the perfect space for art projects, playing games and even doing homework. Other fun ideas include oversized initials that can be decorated and used to spell out a name or a saying in a room, or shadow box frames that can be used to create a personalized, custom look.

Of course, the holidays wouldn’t be the same without stocking stuffers. Those little gifts like gift cards, bath soaps, and small toys like yo-yos and stuffed animals, are a treasured part of the holidays. “Last year at Pier 1 Kids, lots of people bought gift cards for stocking stuffers. It’s so easy, and the kids love coming back to pick out exactly what they want,” says Fowler.

And finally, for those with an aversion to crowds and absolutely no time to hit the stores, online shopping can be the answer. With so many stores online, it’s easier than ever to compare prices and shop without ever leaving your home. Just make sure to read the fine print about delivery options.

Who says holiday shopping can’t be stress-free? With shopping tips like these, you’ll find something for everyone on your list, and have time to check it twice.
